referral link doesnt reflect
hi!
to the admin:
yesterday i invited my sister to join adstab so i gave her my link (http://adstab.com/?r=bibba). while doing the registration, i noticed that my name is not on the referrer's box even though she used my link. if I'm not with her, i think i lost 1 down line. i have tried the link and found out that the r=bibba doest reflect in the referrer's box. script error maybe...
my point is, how will i promote my link if i know that there is a big possibility that i will not get them as my down line. new member doesn't know that the referrer's box should be fill in. they are not aware of it. Cant it be possible that it is not editable?
thank you...

Re: referral link doesnt reflect
This is very true Admin. Some of us are losing referrals because of this.
I've also noticed that if a person clicks on my referral link but first goes to any other page like Surf Ads, FAQ, TOS etc, this erases my referrer id from the box.
So finally, after they've read about your site and are ready to click on Register, the 'Referrer (if any)' box will be blank. And they will sign up as an Un-referred member instead of under me.
Please do something about this.
Thanks

Re: referral link doesnt reflect
Well i was busy last 2-3 days with account activation script. Now it's ok. Next thing is this referral link.
At first i thought that something is wrong with the script, but now i see what you meant. If someone come on AdsTab trough your referral link and before registering take tour on website, it lost your referral link. Am i right?
If that is a problem, i will see how to install cookie to such users so they keep your referral link till they register (even next few days, if they don't erase browser's cookies).
I will work on it tomorrow and let you know...

Re: referral link doesnt reflect
Yeah, that's right. It's exactly what the problem is. A lot of people like taking a tour of the site first to see how many ads you offer, ToS, banners etc.
But if they do this and click on 'Register' afterwards, the address url changes from
http://adstab.com/?r=shalumalaka to http://adstab.com/register.php?r=
therefore my username shalumalaka no longer appears in the 'Referrer (if any)' box and they sign up as an un-referred member instead of under me.

Great idea!!! You da MAN!!! Please let us know tomorrow when it's fixed. Thanx.Admin wrote:If that is a problem, i will see how to install cookie to such users so they keep your referral link till they register (even next few days, if they don't erase browser's cookies).

Re: referral link doesnt reflect
Hi Admin, is there any word or progress on the referral link problem? I'm a little concerned that we may all be losing some potential referrals. Please advise...
Alternatively, is there a way to only have the 'Register' page available to new members so they can't click on another link like 'Surf Ads' or 'Privacy' just before they join?
And obviously once they've joined, all the other links can be made available.
I've also noticed that on some other PTCs like DailyClicks.biz, if a new member clicks my referral link, my username / referrer id can't be edited or deleted. I love that. Is there any way that you could incorporate that feature into AdsTab too?
Anxiously awaiting your response.

Re: referral link doesnt reflect
Ok i solve this problem either for adstab.com/?r=referer or adstab.com/register.php?r=referer. Cookie is set to last 24 hours for your referral link wherever they go and come back...
Anyway, test this function and let me know if there is any problem.
